On Monday, April 22, 2013, a total of 31 teams participated in the Nancy Owens Memorial Foundation Golf Tournament held at the Sugar Creek Country Club Golf Course that benefited the foundation. The event raised more than $15,000 toward finding a cure for breast cancer.
The day commenced with a putting contest sponsored by Susan Butler, the 11 a.m. shotgun start began the 18 holes of golf which included contests along the way and team photos by TK Images Real Estate Photography. Players had a chance to win a Chevy Camaro or Equinox with a Hole in One from Classic Chevrolet Sugar Land, along with tickets to the Masters from Larry, the One Arm Bandit, sponsored by Initech Appraisals. An awards ceremony dinner and prizes concluded the day.
The Nancy Owens Memorial Foundation thanked its Diamond Sponsor, Prudential Anderson Properties; Platinum Sponsor, The Jennifer Hernandez Team of Patriot Bank; and Birdie Sponsors, Mitcham Industries, O’Donnell/Snider Construction, PJS Services, Reliant, an NRG Co., and Woodard Financial Management of Raymond James for their support.
Team members from one of the John Daugherty, Realtors teams, were awarded gift certificates to Golf Galaxy for their first-place finish. The second- and third-place finishers were also awarded gift certificates to Golf Galaxy. Each player received a golf shirt sponsored by A-G Geophysical Products Inc. Lunch was sponsored by FairfieldNodal, and participants received a bag that included goodies from various sponsors, including Golf Galaxy.
